Are you on fumes or what? First of all, what do you call a "database" in Informix and DB2? EXACTLY what, not some nebulous concept.

I think if you sit back a bit and breath deep, you'll find that it's PRECISELY Sybase et all and Informix who were behind the times on this and only recently caught up.
