hi oracle gurus,

i've got a simple question here and thanks in advance for any help.

we've got Oracle 8.0.5 on NT.

i was trying to get the status of an instance from command line. how do i do that? by wanting to know the status i mean, if an instance is running and if database has been mounted.

for a service i use NET START command to check the status of service, but it's the instance whose status i'm intersted in.

thanks once more.

:) ATTA
