hi folks

when i startup my oracle instance on linux (oracle 8i) from the svrmgrl, i get this strange
message:

ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area 32 bytes
Fixed Size 32 bytes
Variable Size 32 bytes
Database Buffers 32 bytes
Redo Buffers 32 bytes
Database mounted.

although i should look something like this

ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area 73760144 bytes
Fixed Size 64912 bytes
Variable Size 6414336 bytes
Database Buffers 67108864 bytes
Redo Buffers 172032 bytes
Database mounted.

and until now everything seems to work pretty. so, what's wrong here? should i worry about using oracle 8i on linux in production environment?

                                        thomas
