OEM backup jobs

hello all,

I have tried to schedule a backup job using OEM (on 8i) to run immediately and for some reason, it shows as 'active' and 'started' but it does not get executed!? I must be missing some privs here!? (I created a user with allow 'batch file run' priv) -- I guess I have something misconfigured!?
