alter database mount failed HPUX 11.0 ORACLE EE 8.1.5

Hi,
after a new database start I've got the following message: scumnt: failed to lock /opt/oracle/product/8.1.5/dbs/lk<ORACLE_SID> exclusive

ORA-09968: scumnt: unable to lock file
HP-UX Error: 13: Permission denied

the content of the file lk<ORACLE_SID> are 'DO NOT DELETE THIS FILE!'
I remembered on the sgadef<ORACLE_SID>.dbf from ORACLE 7.3.2 and renamed the file , started new and the database was mounted .

What is the meaning of sgadef.dbf in 7.3.2 and

                                                lk          in 8.1.5
