Upon running oracle installer, the following error message pops up during the analysis of RDBMS
dependecies:

"There are still sgadaf<SID>.dbf file(s) in the $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/ (/u01/app/oracle/product/8.0.5/dbs). This indicates that there may still be running instances. You
must shut down all database instances associasted with this ORACLE_HOME before upgrading the Srver.
Select (Yes) if you have shut down the instances from another terminal/window. Select (No) to about
the installation"

2 problems:

  1. The directory referenced simply doesn't exist.
  2. There are no running instances, as this is a first-time install.

Any suggestions?
