Startup of Multiple Oracle Versions

When trying to autostart multiple versions of Oracle on our Unix box, we core dump. We use the following command line in our autostart script.

su - $ORA_OWNER -c $ORA_HOME/bin/dbstart &

Isn't dbstart supposed to set up the correct environment. It appears to take the original ORA_HOME and gets fouled up. If anyone is starting multiple versions from HP or Solaris, your assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks...
