Any experiences (good or bad) with RMAN

Group,

I am looking for any one with experiences with RMAN. We are using Oracle 8.0.5 on AIX 4.3. I am in the process of learning RMAN for our backups. We will be using Veritas as our tape backup and incorporate those into RMAN. Do you have any experiences, (GOOD OR BAD), that you can share with me. Please respond to john.jones_at_duke.edu if possible, I don't alway have the time to read the newsgroups.
