SQL*Net Config Question

I am attempting to re-config SQL*Net(v 2.3.4.0.0) to "point" to tnsnames.ora on a network drive. Is it possible to do this with the names.directory_path parameter in the sqlnet.ora file? If so, what is the syntax?
