HELP - Linux installer

Hi

I already installed 8i for Linux RH 6.1 - I'd like to invoke the installer to see what's already been installed. WHERE is the installer - I don't see it in $ORACLE_HOME/bin??? Or maybe a better question, what is installer executable called?

The reason is - I'm trying to see if the *full* documenation is installed, or is an option for installation - because I can't find it anywhere - all I have is just a watered-down version for Linux.
