When I start Oracle it reports:

SVRMGR> ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area 4762896 bytes
Fixed Size 48400 bytes
Variable Size 4231168 bytes
Database Buffers 409600 bytes
Redo Buffers 73728 bytes
Database mounted.
Database opened.

I have 2 redo logs at 32768 and both v$parameter and v$vgastat reflect that (65535). Where does the extra 8192 bytes (73728-65536) come from? Received on Wed Jan 26 2000 - 12:10:35 CST
