Oracle 8.0.4 for NT - installer doesn't work

I have installed Oracle 8.0.4 for NT on both an NT 4.0 workstation and server accepting all the defaults. Unfortunately I can now no longer run the installer either off the hard disk or the CDROM after the initial install on either machine.

Obviously the CDROM's copy has not changed so what is going on? Are there any known bugs?
