Hello,

I want to create an initial Oracle database. Oracle has a tool for this, the Database Configuration Assistent. This lives as dbassist in the $ORACLE_HOME/bin directory. However, when I run it and a couple of dialogsscreens further, I got a fatal error message:

CD-Rom drive not detected on this system. Database not created.

Why? The CD Rom drive is there. It is mounted on /cdrom and even if I start dbassist from the /cdrom/ area it fails.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Bas. Received on Tue Jan 18 2000 - 23:58:14 CST
