Rounding Differences

Has anyone come across difference in rounding between Oracle 7 and Oracle 8. I'm experiencing 'noise' being added to the a float(126) columns with some value.

For example when I insert a C double into an Oracle float(126) column and retrieve the results I get different results between Oracle 7 and Oracle 8.

If I assign 1989.35 to a C double and insert I will retrieve 1989.3499999999999 using Oracle 7.3.3 but with Oracle 8.0.5 I'm getting back 1989.3500000000001.
