You are missing an environment variable on the server. Regrettably I don't know the exact name anymore, it starts with TK21 and it is documented somewhere in the Installation and Users Guide. Also you may want to verify TERM and ORACLE_TERM.
The DISPLAY variable is correct, as with X-windows your PC is considered the server by X
