help with sys passwd

Hi all


I had install 8i for linux and give the passwd to sys login, however
it refuse the login for sys, I can only login as system or internal, I
try to change the passwd at the sqlplus but it not help either, can
someone help me out

SQL> password sys


Changing password for sys


New password:


Retype new password:


ERROR:



ORA-01005: null password given; logon denied




Password unchanged


SQL>
