Are you using gnome? If u are, make sure you have enlightenment-0.15.5-37.i386.rpm or higher. Or try using kde.

Granted that the focus was RedHat 6.0, most of them work as well with 6.1, except for things such as runlevels for automatic startup and shutdown (RedHat 6.0 default runlevel is 3, while 6.1 uses 5 as the default).
