I heard the problem was to do with the Motif libraries that Developer for UNIX relies on to install/compile etc. Linux doesn't ship with the motif libraries as they are a licensable product, and so no Developer (and following on from that - no Oracle Applications R11). A possible rumor was that Developer 6i would fix all this, but I have no definite information.
