Asynchronous replication issues

Source: Oracle 7.3.4
Target: Oracle 8i

Is there a problem with asynchronous replication if the source database contains table(s) with LONG columns? If so, why? Any workarounds?

Also, if the source db is in a OPS (Parallel Server) configuration, are there any issues with replicating from it to a Oracle 8i database? Again, any workarounds?

Thanks,
Vikas
