Help!!

I am creating a view the contains a column called "creation_date" from a main table.

This date is the numeric representation of a UNIX date (on Solaris). I cannot find a "clean" way to conver this date to a date that is recognizable to oracle as being a valid date... I have thought of creating an external function in C that converts this date to an "ORACLE date" but is this the best way???
