Listener problem

I'm trying to install Oracle 7.3.4 on an Ibm AIX platform. It works and installs correctly but I have problems configuring SQL*Net and the listener.

The IPC listener works, I'm trying to install also a TcpIp one but if I create a listener entry using 127.0.0.1 as the IP Address it works (tnsping is able to reach the server), while using the real IP address of the machine I always get an error 12537, Connection Closed, from tns. Obviuosly I also change tnsnames.ora to reflect this modifications. I've installed a lot of Oracle server on NT machines but this is the first time on Unix.

Any help would be appreciated, please answer also via email to massimogentilini_at_hotmail.com because the newsfeed to italy sometimes does not work.

Greetings from Italy and thanks in advance Massimo Received on Tue Dec 28 1999 - 07:36:56 CST
