Newbie's question: how to use GCC with pro*c

Hello all:

I am newcomer to oracle Pro*c programing on solaris. There is a Oracle7 installed on my soalris 2.6 box . I am trying to learn something on pro*c
programe . my program is every simple : connect to database and select some colums from it.

After I write down the program I want to complie it , but find sample proc.mk file just support system V C compiler cc , I just have gcc installed . I change some configuration in env_precomp.mk , but I always get compiler error . Would you please help me with this problem?
