Everything you describe below is correct apart from your assumption: NT versions of Oracle never include Pro*C. You must get hold of it separately. (I found this out myself last week...). The oracle man I talked to said that Unix versions include pro*c by default.

If you have pro*c, the precompiler in invoced as "proc infile=MyProg.pc" So search for "proc.exe" :-)

I have used Pro*c in school on VMS (Vax) an used the native C compiler. My teacher said that she (yes she) could only get Micro$oft C to compile pro*c precompiled files... So ANSI C? I don't know. Ask me again when the CD from Oracle has arrived :-)
