Hi, all
I have a question regarding to backing up databases which I wish you can help me.
Right now our database is still small, a few GB, however I'd like to have a machanism of backuping up our database in order to cope with the future expansion.

What is the best rotation of backing up database? How many times a day everyday Monday to Sunday? What kind of back up method should I use, logical or physical? And what to backup and how often (database files, tablespace, etc)?

We are running Oracle on NT, this is what I do to backup our database
 Using "exp80"
 Schedule backing up by using "Winat" in NT
 Copy the backed up "dmp" file onto CD.
How would I be able to produce an error log file on NT?

Since our company is doing E-Commerce, the information obtain from customer is updated to our database, hence the availability of database must be high (24 hrs), that just makes me wonder what is the most secure and uninterrupting way to backup our database.

Please help me with this question, thank you very much. P.S. Is there any site or book I can have such information?

Regards,

David
