Hi everyone,

I just want to confirm that there's not automatic way, through Oracle, of deleting any log files. I have inherited Oracle 7.3.2, 805, 8i databases, and OAS 3 & 4. That's a lot of potential logging. We've had several "emergencies" of disks running out of space for logging. Is it true that log files are not deleted automatically by Oracle? If we want it done, is it probably via a cron job to first store them to tape, and then delete them? Or is there some way via Oracle to have this done?

TIA,
