Hello,

I would like to know if Oracle 8i set with MTS (and a pretty big large_pool_size) is good for an OLTP oriented Database (many many short light queries, and many concurrent connections (comming from an app that keeps a pool of connections, about 200)) ?

Actually, I was forced to decrease the large_pool_size and increase the shared_pool_size because I think oracle wasn't using the large_pool and was running out of shared_pool for prepared queries/cursors/etc. So I don't really see how to really enable the use of that large_pool.

The problem we have: it seems thay sometimes, opening or closing a connection takes a lot of time...

Would appreciate any help
Thanks
Riad
