We have workstations that connect to Oracle and sometimes the workstations crash. (Windoze environment) Oracle does not know they went away and this causes problems. I suspect that the problem is in the transport not notifying Oracle that the connection went away. Does anyone know how to change that or seen this type of problem before and know of a solution?

I am looking for a solution in where Oracle is running on the following platforms:
(any info would do)
Netware
HPUX
AIX
NT

TIA,
