Also consider your hardware, read the documentation for the disc/raid controller, what is the smallest 'get' supported ?

I myself have never seen any oracle database perform 'good' under Windows NT with under 8K block size, but then again I have not seen so many, and they are all BMS databases, and do all have fairly many fields pr. row.
