Normally it should not change the result set returned.

But we had a few problems with 7.1.6.2.5 and 7.3.3.6 on Sun Solaris.

General guidelines:

• Do not enable hash joins previous to 7.3.4.
• If you enable hash joins make hash_area_size >= 2.5 * sort_area_size.
• Do not use decode in your where or having condition. Rewrite your condition instead.
• We had one bug filed in German support where group by did not return unique groups.
