Hello Etienne,

sounds as if you had rule based optimizer in 7.3 (I do not know if it was the default there) and cost based optimizer with choose goal in 8i.

Try one of the following:

• Use the init.ora setting "optimizer_goal = rule" and add the hint /*+ all_rows */ to your queries.
• Use the init.ora setting "optimizer_goal = first_rows" and add the hint /*+ all_rows */ to your queries.
