OAS4.08 Web Listener user authentication

My company has recently upgraded from OAS2.1 to 4.08, and now I need to arrange the security for www access. We have around a couple of thousand users who are authenticated by the Basic Authentication scheme. This involves static html pages, cgi applications, cartridges, etc.

What I'm looking for is a command line tool with which I can automatically generate passwords for users. In 2.1 there was no problem since the passwords were not encrypted and saved "as is." However, OAS 4 encrypts the passwords in a format unknown to me.

Something like oaspasswd or wladmin without any user interaction and for more general use would be fine.

If anyone knows of such a tool or is able to shed some light on the encryption method, it would be very much appreciated.
