If you left everything as the default when installing, when you log is as the Unix user "oracle" it shouldn't ask for a password. If you trying to start svrmgrl as a different user it will ask you for a password and you can try using "oracle" as a password. However when you are doing anything which requires you to use the svrmgl program you should be logged in as unix user "oracle".
