Hi all,

        I'm new to Java/JBuilder and Oracle. Currently I have "Error : opening database.. localhost". I have JBuilder 3Pro, Oracle8.0.4 Personal on Win95 and stand alone system. I have modified Jbuilder.ini to include Oracle classes111.zip; and URL setup in JDBC Explorer as follows:
URL = jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:orcl driver = oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver UserName = scott

I clicked open dialog box "Open oracle:thin:.. " appeared, then password (tiger) entered then i'm getting error "Error : opening database.. localhost".

what is the extension of an oracle database file? what is the sample database name that comes with Oracle 8.0.4 Personal? what other host/number combination can I try?

thanks in advance,
Praba Vijay
