Do I still need Oracle Application Server with Oracle 8i?

  1. Now that Oracle8i has its own CORBA and EJB server, do I still need Oracle Application Server 4.x, if all my components will be written in Java?? In other words, what can OAS do that Oracle 8i'S built-in EJB and CORBA server cannot do??
  2. Does anyone know what are Oracle's goals between these two products? Fully merge them together, drop OAS??

Thanks,

John Salvo
