The situation you're describing is what I meant by "rebuilding the rollback segment tablespace might be too much of a pain for the gain you get anyway." It's similar to losing a datafile with online rollback segments. Can you recover from this? Yes. Is it easy? No. That's why I left it at a relatively bland statement rather than putting in all the details, because it really does need some solid expertise to do this.

I agree with your comment on temporary tablespaces, though again it may be simpler to just backup everything rather than to have an extra step to remember (determining what everyone's temporary tablespace is defined as and then creating those tablespaces from scratch). Remember that when most people are doing a recovery, it's a panic situation and those extra steps are easily left out.
