Hi,
This should work perfectly for us - english installations.
There are some pitfalls if you are using anything else than us7ascii.
Some environment variables need to be set to have
oracle use the right message files.
Sorry, I don't remember names/settings - you might want to contact
oracle support if you get problems. (something along the lines of
ORA_NLS_32=<path_to_message_files> or so.)
I used to get weird error messages upon establishing a connection in such a environment 'cause somehow the message catalogs got mixed up between 7 and 8.
