I have been using OCI since 8.0. It is a bit cumbersome at first. We built a C++ wrapper around the monster to handle connecting, re-connecting and the creation of recordset classes (ODBC-like) which are quite simple to use.

I believe OCI has the best future for development. OCI is the only tool to support context when using the call-out mechanisim in 8.x
