My bad. I looked at the listener log again, and as you noted, it lists
the clients IP and port #. However, what I said about the server
cycling thru a couple of thousand ports by default to reply is still
correct. I will have to re-find the log file I originally looked at,
and it may be an NT log vs and Oracle log. However, I remember it
distinctly because the server tried the ports sequentially, and they
where all high numbered ports. Also, if you review what NT specific
Oracle documentation there is, it basically confirms this. Glad you
were able to get it solved.
