Re: Error in recovery

Do the following:

• [SHUTDOWN if anything is still running, SHUTDOWN ABORT if SHUTDOWN fails]
• (re)move whatever is left of your old logfiles;
• STARTUP MOUNT;
• RECOVER DATABASE UNTIL CANCEL; This will tell you that the recovery is now complete. With an already consistent database it does nothing except marking the database as recovered.
• ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS; This statement only works when the database is just recovered.
• Do a SHUTDOWN+STARTUP to see whether everything is really OK You should always do this after a serious recovery.
