I haven't deal with Oracle8.0.5. I've installed (successfully ;) 8.1.5 Full distribution
archive consists three categories: Oracle8i Server, Oracle8iClient, Oracle Prorammer, each of them has been to intalled separatly - e.g You can install Oracle Server only (your case). But, once again, You have all three categories in main archive.

I think Oracle8.0.5 has similar design.
