Many ODBC client writers problem

I've a problem with using Oracle's ODBC driver from MSVisualC++ clients. It appears that if more than one concurrent write operation is attempted I get an assertion error and "No rows affected by update/delete operation". Shouldn't the requests be queued up? What am I missing here? (except a brain ;-)

My guess is I'me going to get caught in a "it's their fault" batttle. Perhaps this is releated to Microsofts recordsets?
