local extent tablespace

Does anybody have experiences with or recommendations about local-managed tablespaces - a new feature that came along with 8i? What are the considerations about taking autoallocate or uniform? And if you take uniform, how do you decide about the size? And at last, is there any advantage choosing local-managed tablespaces?
