HELP : timeout or network fail ???

hi ppl:

    Ive two databases on a Server NT with Oracle 8.0.5     Sometimes in one form when a master detail block is populated some data does not appear...

    In the detail block i've got a ID column with a POST-CHANGE event with a SELECT INTO statement to a textfield NODATABASE that shows the description of that ID... What happens is that sometimes the POST-CHANGE event does not get any data, and i've noted that is when the populate detais action takes a little longer time.

    Do i have to tune any parameter like TIMEOUT ? or anything like this ?     I've a network structure with 2 cascade HUBS, can it be NETWORK problems ?

    How can i know ?
