inserting long-text lines

Hi,

I just managed to insert text data larger than 4000 characters via sql-plus and/or sql-worksheet because I need to store some HTML-templates in my oracle 8.

But I am still not able to store text-data with long lines. 4000 characters or even 2 GB of text is ok as long as there are line breaks after about 500 characters. If there is, eg. only one line for my text to insert, sql-plus tells me, that the line is to long.

Does anybody know how to insert long lines, I think it could be a 'set ...' or something...

Thanks for your help
