Disaster Recovery

*,
If I have an oracle 7.3.3.6 database running under solaris, and I want to recover from a disaster (say the building getting hit by a rocket or something) then
my recovery machine would have to be configured EXACTLY as my production machine in order to simply restore from tape, right ?

I'm pretty sure this is the case (since the control files and datafiles would have to reference the same devices) but I'd like a little confirmation.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the other option would be to do a complete EXPORT, create a database on the recovery machine and then IMPORT into it .

thoughts ?
