Migration: Oracle 7.2 (AIX) -> 8.0.5 (Linux)

I am trying to migrate a db server from oracle 7.2.3 on aix to oracle 8.0.5 on linux (rh 6.0), leaving client application on aix.

I have installed oracle and patched with glibpatch, exported full from aix and imported full into linux box. Then I recompiled all invalid objects.

All seems ok: the client application (FORMS3) running on AIX works via SQL*NET (I set TWO_TASK instead of ORACLE_SID right?) but sometimes I get the 'Oracle error -- unable to reserve record for update or delete'
I have checked for problems like locks or full tablespace but everything seems ok.

I am not so practical with Oracle and sqlnet, maybe I have to use MTS dispatcher? (I have read somewhere TWO_TASK is for client/server on the same machine ..)

thanks in advance
