Listener Problem

Hi.

I am hoping to look for some help with my installation problem. I tried to install Oracle 8i on Windows NT 4, but I kept getting the same problem of not being able to connect to the database that I had created. The problem may lie with the Listener as I could not get it to start. When I tried to do so manually (by going into DOS and type "lsnrctl start"), I was returned with an "Application Error" message that reads

(The instruction at "0x77f6cde6: referenced memory at"0x00000010". The memory could not be "written".)

Can somebody please help me on this problem. Thanks in advance.

Tom
