Using : Oracle 8.1.5, Windows NT4 SP3...

I get the following message in the alertlog file when I tried to shutdown an instance ( immediate shutdown ).

"SHUTDOWN : Waiting for detached processes to terminate."

The database is accessed by OAS 4.0.7 , SQL*Plus and D2K sessions....

It uses external procedure calls as part of the application.

Anyone any ideas as to what is happening / has happened and how I should fix the problem ???

Cheers

Steve Bright
