Actually the V7.3 Installation Guide gives a step by step recipe. With V8.1.5 just run the supplied wizard, dbassist. Over the last two months I've installed one V7.3.4.3 instance & 4 V8.1.5 instances without any problems. When all else fails, RTFM!
