Hello
I have following question.
What type of the computer are needed? Will be enough PII-450 with 256MB and Raid 5 with 4x9GB HDD?
How create the database? How set database parameters? How big and how many logs,rollbacks,buffers,...?
The inicialization import have about 8GB. The database have about 1000 tables and indexes, with many constraints. The import have native format and must be translated via stored procedures to many tables (about 100). Head's updates and inserts are maked over 5-20 tables for one record. Other tables are for checking (only many selects).
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!But the import must be finished between a few days!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For other work the data increase about 2-4GB per year. There aren't any trouble with the pover.
